Taking Making into Schools is a pedagogical orientation (Crichton & Carter, 2015) and a mindset (Dougherty, 2013) that integrates imagination and creativity with design thinking, problem-solving, and even more importantly, problem finding. Using microcontrollers and coding in a Maker Day professional learning event adds an additional element to the design thinking and creative problem finding process.

coding to the classroom. By teaching students how to deal imaginatively with the complexity of developing creative solutions for a variety of problems, they will be given the opportunity to explore their creativity and actually make something new and meaningful.
